As many local skaters already know, Santa Clarita’s skate park is set to host a Volcom Stone’s 2009 Wild in the Parks skate competition on Saturday, September 19. Pre-registration for the event has been bumped up to tomorrow, Friday, September 4 and the City is encouraging local skaters to sign up at Volcom.com to secure one of the 300 spots available for the event. Registration was originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 8, but the date was moved earlier to give the Santa Clarita skate community more time to register for the competition. Santa Clarita is the only California stop for the Wild in the Parks tour, and the last qualifying location for the skate contest before the Championships in Arizona on September 26.
