Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Newhall Pass Open Space

Uncategorized

This Week in Santa Clarita:

On Thursday, June 23rd, Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the Newhall Pass Open Space, located by the I-5 and 14 interchange. Joining our nine thousand acre open space district, this newly acquired land was made possible by The City of Santa Clarita in conjunction with The Trust for Public Land along with state and local agencies.

The new trail bridges the gap between the Santa Susana and San Gabriel Mountain ranges. The area is now preserved for future generations to enjoy and serves as a wildlife corridor as well as a water resource. Newhall Pass is just one of the many open spaces for residents to enjoy in The Santa Clarita Valley.
