On Sunday, April 3, over 500 Santa Clarita residents attended the City’s first Fiesta Mexicana at the Newhall Community Center.
The afternoon celebration featured live mariachi music from Mariachi Rey de América and festive performances from the City of Santa Clarita’s Ballet Folklórico dance group.
In addition to the performances, residents who attended the cultural experience enjoyed authentic food, inflatable jumps, fun photo opportunities and even had the chance to participate in a community art project with The ARTree Community Arts Center. The project allowed kids from the community to paint colorful faces on foam puzzle pieces using acrylic paint. The puzzle pieces will fit together to make a patchwork puzzle of faces and will be displayed at the Newhall Community Center.
