The City of Santa Clarita will host a traveling art exhibit entitled Art in Touch, which is now on display at Space 125 on Town Center Drive at the Westfield Valencia Town Center beginning today through Sunday, August 18. The exhibit will be open on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
Art in Touch features 15 works of “hands on”, interactive pieces of art and was organized by the Arts Council of Kern. The City’s Arts Commission worked with the Arts Council of Kern to bring “Art in Touch” to Santa Clarita.
The exhibit was designed to appeal to all ages, with an emphasis on the blind and visually impaired, as pieces were meant to be touched and include artist interviews for an additional audio component of the exhibit.
The exhibit was funded by a grant from the Black Rock Arts Foundation and features work by: Eileen Ettinger, Iva Fendrick, Kathryn and Stewart Fields, Enemerio Galvan, Marcy Holbrook, Justin Jennings, David Leitch, Bill Malis, Dan Slayton, Brian Stanton, Marlene Tatsuno, and Hank Washington.
