The Westfield Valencia Town Center opened the much-anticipated Shops at the Patios outdoor expansion project last Thursday, November 11.
Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste was invited to address the crowd and spoke of the economic benefit of the new expansion. The Shops at the Patios expansion project for Westfield will bring an estimated 700 new jobs and $1 million in sales tax revenue to the City.
Raj Chandani, General Manager for the Westfield Valencia Town Center, spoke of the journey towards the opening of the new expansion and thanked everyone who helped make the project possible. The Patios will add 40 new upscale stores to the City by years end.
The grand opening of the Shops at the Patios was held on Veteran’s Day and members of the military were represented during the ceremony.
In conjunction with Veterans Day, Larry Green, Senior Vice President of Development for Westfield, presented a check to the Santa Clarita VFW. Although the check is made out to $1,000, Green surprised the crowd by upping the total donation to $10,000.
