Thursday, May 20, the City of Santa Clarita teamed up with Metro, Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, and Newhall Bicycle for Bike to Work Day. Overall 20 businesses formed teams, totaling over 250 employees who participated in the event. The City of Santa Clarita had a total of 37 riders.
The City served as one of the pit stops around town where riders could get refreshments, cycling information and giveaways.
Cal Arts formed one of the teams participating in the event.
Marzocchi USA (above), a local bike & motorcycle suspension company, had 9 out of their 10 employees ride to work.
The Challenge Team winners were:
Small Business- Dr. Bruce Hall’s Office – 100% participation. Prize- $75 gift certificate to restaurant of choice and Golden Spoon
Medium Business - Factory Effex- 35% participation. Prize – $150 gift certificate to restaurant of choice and Golden Spoon
Large Business - L.A County Sheriff – 12% participation. Prize – $250 gift certificate to restaurant of choice and Golden Spoon
