Tena, Ecuador, one of Santa Clarita’s Sister Cities, is in crisis due to the areas worst flooding in 50 years. The flooding destroyed streets, houses, bridges, and crops. More than 1,200 families have been left homeless in Tena. The flood did not make international headlines, but Tena is in need of help. Any Donation big or small will make a difference to help those families affected by the crisis.
The Sister City International Program is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between the U.S. and international communities. Currently the City of Santa Clarita has two international Sister Cities, one with Sariaya, Philippines and the other with Tena, Ecuador.
Funding is desperately needed for the area to provide basic services and neccessities. For more information or to donate click here.
