Cross Valley Connector Bridge Concrete Pour

November 18, 2009

Work progresses on the last phase of the City’s Cross Valley Connector which will be complete in Spring 2010. On Tuesday, November 17, the next level of concrete was poured onto the surface of the bridge.

Work for the concrete pour began before dawn on the Cross Valley Connector bridge that will connect Newhall Ranch Road to Golden Valley Road near Soledad Canyon.

The massive amount of concrete being poured onto the bridge deck requires a lot of care to make sure it hardens and is applied correctly.

Once the concrete is poured and level, material is paced over the concrete to ensure it doesn’t dry to quickly which would cause it to crack.
