Mayor Frank Ferry and the Santa Clarita City Council held the ribbon cutting event for the first phase of the Old Town Newhall Streetscape project last Thursday. Phase 1 of the Old Town Newhall Streetscape project included major improvements on two blocks of Main Street, from 6th Street to 8th Street. Sidewalk pavers, hardscape and tree planting are now completed, as well as the installation of landscaping and street furniture.
The City Council was joined by members of the Old Town Newhall Association, local merchants and members of the City’s Planning Commission and Parks, Recreation and Community Serivces Commission, and Redevelopment Committee.
