In an effort to better accommodate the needs of the local cycling community, the City of Santa Clarita recently replaced all “WALK BIKE” regulatory signs with cautionary warning signs. Now, cyclists who choose to ride bikes through local affected intersections no longer run the risk of receiving a traffic citation for “walk bike” violations.

The new yellow-on-black signs, installed as part of the City’s Non-Motorized Transportation Plan, serve as cautionary warnings to local experienced cyclists who choose to ride bicycles through local intersections. The new cautionary signs replace previous white-on-black “WALK BIKE” regulatory signs, which indicated that cyclists who did not walk bikes through affected intersections could be penalized with traffic citations for violations.
