A look back at the 2009 Santa Clarita Valley Dodger Day reveals that not only did participants have great time watching the hometown team defeat the Colorado Rockies by an impressive score of 14-2, Santa Clarita charities were winners too.
Over 900 community members participated and a total of $5,228 was raised with money going to the Boy’s and Girls Club, Let Me Sail, Helmers Elementary, Hart Pony League, Santa Clarita Elementary School, City of Santa Clarita SCORE, and Relay for Life.
A local audition was held for aspiring Santa Clarita singers for the opportunity to sing the National Anthem. Camille Grey (above) was selected by the Dodgers to represent Santa Clarita by singing God Bless America.
The day offered a unique chance for some Santa Clarita kids to stand on the historic baseball field at Dodger Stadium. For those who missed this years event, there’s always next year…
