Right on the heels of opening up the region’s largest Skate Park and adjacent playing field, the City is prepared to continue Phase IV of its Sports Complex expansion. The plan, set to be completed by late summer of this year, will add an off leash Dog Park, two lighted sports fields, a pedestrian walkway system, universally accessible playing area and two fully lighted outdoor basketball courts, which will also be used for low-intensity recreational roller hockey games, to the Sports Complex.
Phase IV will also add picnic shelters, new restrooms, another 143 parking spaces and new hillside landscaping to the Sports Complex, as well as expanded concrete seating bleachers at the Aquatics Center. Phase IV will also add 200 additional parking stalls to the Sports Complex when the expansion is completed to accommodate increased attendance.
