Earlier today the City of Santa Clarita held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Newhall Ranch Road Bridge Widening Project. The event took place on the southwest corner of the Newhall Ranch Road Bridge, adjacent to the San Francisquito Creek Trail.
This multi-million dollar project will widen the Newhall Ranch Road Bridge over the San Francisquito Creek from six to eight lanes, providing an additional lane in each direction. A raised median will also be installed in the center to help keep drivers within lanes. Those traveling on foot or on bike will appreciate the new protected sidewalk and bike trail. This project supports the Santa Clarita 2020 theme of Building and Creating Community.
