The City of Santa Clarita invites community members to welcome the New Year at the annual Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim at 9 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2016. The event will be held at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center Waterslide Pool.
The chilly swim is free for everyone and participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation for the SCV Food Pantry. The Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim allows residents to ride down the chilly Aquatic Center waterslide and splash through the unheated pool. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided to warm up swimmers after they take the plunge.
Aquatic Center doors will open at 8:45 a.m. The Aquatic Center Waterslide Pool will not be open for recreational swimming on January 1 and will close immediately following the Polar Bear Swim at 9:30 a.m.
