In anticipation of the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Santa Clarita Public Library invites Jedi’s of all ages to celebrate the new film in the famous saga with themed activities and programming beginning on Monday, December 7, and continuing up to the release of the film on Thursday, December 17.
All three library branches will offer more than a week of free programs and giveaways, including:
- Jedi Academy – Young padawans can test their skills with the Force at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.
- Star Wars Ornament Making – Jedi Knights ages 12 and up can create holiday ornaments at the Valencia Library from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8.
- Michael Kogge Author Event – Jedi Master Michael Kogge, author of “Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know,” will talk about all things Star Wars at the Old Town Newhall Library beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 17.
During each event, participants will have the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to a private screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, at the Valencia Stadium 12 Theater. In order to be eligible to win a ticket, library guests must participate in at least one activity and be 13 years or older.
Additionally, young padawans will have the opportunity to win free books and DVDs of “Star Wars Rebels” at each library by participating in guessing games.
