The City of Santa Clarita, in partnership with the Valencia Auto Center and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, invite residents to spend some time in Old Town Newhall this Saturday, November 21, to kick off the holiday season.
In the spirit of the season, dozens of Old Town Newhall merchants will host the Old Town Newhall Sip N’ Shop block party this Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Holiday shoppers can stroll up and down Main Street and enjoy wine tastings, appetizers, promotions and specials at popular local retailers just in time for the holidays.
The City’s annual Light Up Main Street celebration in Old Town Newhall, also happening this Saturday will begin at 6 p.m. with festive dance and music performances from local groups, including William S. Hart High School and Santa Clarita Master Chorale.
The Santa Clarita City Council will officially turn on the lights around 7 p.m. to transform Main Street into a winter wonderland. The street will be adorned with thousands of lights and a 23-foot Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library will serve as an anchor to the festive street.
In addition to the stunning light display, holiday enthusiasts can also enjoy food trucks and the chance to take a commemorative photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Free public parking for both the Old Town Newhall Sip N’ Shop and the Light Up Main Street celebration will be available at the Old Town Newhall Library, the Metrolink Station and at several public parking lots on and around Main Street.
