On Wednesday, November 26, the City of Santa Clarita’s Drug Free Youth in Town (DFYIT) members presented the Family Promise of the SCV with more than 2,400 pairs of new socks to benefit local homeless families.
DFYIT members at Santa Clarita junior high and high schools collected the socks in honor of Socktober, a nationwide movement initiated through social media to benefit the homeless.
Family Promise of the Santa Clarita Valley, which mobilizes community faith groups in the Santa Clarita Valley to bring shelter, meals and support services to families without homes to help them get back on their feet.
