Thursdays@Newhall is inviting antique car enthusiasts to check out the Revved Up car show happening from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

August is Family Fun Month! Enjoy it in Old Town Newhall with’Thursdays@Newhall’ Events

The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, will continue to shake up Old Town Newhall with its August events.

Beginning on Thursday, August 6, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., ArtSLAM will feature artwork from Laurie Morgan, Kristina Jacob, Patty Haft and free caricatures. At 7:30 p.m. participants can jump and jive at JAM Sessions, hosted by Ford Theatre Foundation, with a swing dance night hosted by the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association.

Revved Up on Thursday, August 13 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., will feature antiques from the birth of the automobile to the end of World War II. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in Revved Up can apply online.

Senses Halloween Thrill Chill 3

Residents can celebrate the 46th anniversary of Woodstock with a peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll block party at SENSES on Thursday, August 20, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Participants can enjoy tie-dying, vintage Volkswagen buses and psychedelic tunes from Woodstock Mud.

The August lineup of Thursdays@Newhall events finishes on Thursday, August 27 with the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership and the City of Santa Clarita, and SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on August 27, the ARTree Speaker Series will host Disney Imagineering executive, Michael Jung as he explains the creative process behind Disneyland’s world-famous attractions.

Also on August 27, SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series with six-time WMA Entertainer of the Year award-winner, Dave Stamey, beginning at 8 p.m. at the Repertory East Playhouse located at 24266 Main Street. Tickets can be purchased here.

On Thursday, May 21, masked patrons filled Main Street in Old Town Newhall for the Thursdays@Newhall’s Masquerade themed SENSES block party, presented by Galpin Subaru.

The evening included tasty dishes from El Trocadero, Newhall Refinery, the Grilled Cheese Truck, and the Recess Truck, and beverages provided by The Vu, as well as a performance from the scintillating 19-piece New Orleans Style Orchestra of Vaud and the Villains.

‘Thursdays@Newhall’ Series Continues in June with ArtSlam

The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, continues in June with its fourth installment of the 2015 season.

Senses August Odd Ball Sports 2

Main Street in Old Town Newhall will come to life each Thursday evening with a variety of things to see, including a ceramic art display, West African dance and drums performances, a custom and classic motorcycles show, a Vegas-inspired block party, an appearance by author Melissa Shepherd and a performance by Miss Devon & The Outlaw.

ArtSLAM returns to Old Town Newhall this Thursday, June 4, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. which will feature Katherine Ridder and Charles Singer of CASI Ceramic Artist Studio, Inc. with live potter’s wheel and hand building demos. At 7:30 p.m. participants can take part in JAM Sessions, hosted by Ford Theatre Foundation, as Yeko Ladzekpo-Cole leads an energetic African Dance and Drums night per the traditions of the Ewe and Dagomba people of Ghana.

Revved Up from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, will feature custom Choppers, custom Harleys and classic motorcycles such as Bonneville, Indian Chief and Norton Commando. The event will also include music, food trucks and adult beverages. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in Revved Up can apply online.

SENSES returns from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, when Main Street is closed down for a “Let it Ride” Vegas-inspired block party. The evening will feature classic rock hits from After Party, gaming tables, magic performances and specialty adult beverages.

The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, continues in May with its third installment of the 2015 season.

On Thursday, May 7, from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. the Old Town Newhall Association presents street chalk art at ArtSLAM. Residents can watch more than 20 chalk art pieces take shape while perusing other works on display from local and student artists.

Also on Thursday, May 7, beginning at 7:30 p.m. community members can take part in JAM Sessions, hosted by the Ford Theatre Foundation, as Christine Inouye leads celebratory bon dances, set to ondo music by Japenese folk fusion ensemble Minyo Station.

Senses Rockabilly

On Thursday, May 14, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. the Revved Up car show will feature traditional rods and customs, specifically 40’s, 50’s and early-60’s vehicles with a primary emphasis on low-buck and home-built using period-correct components. The event will also include music, food trucks and adult beverages. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in a future Revved Up Car Show can apply online.

Don masks and formal attire on Thursday, May 21, when SENSES returns with a free Masquerade block party from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The evening will feature the scintillating 19-piece, 1930’s New Orleans Orchestra and Cabaret Show of Vaud and the Villains, food trucks and adult beverages.

On Thursday, May 28, the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership, will feature Los Angeles animator, filmmaker and artist Javier Barboza from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library. Barboza will discuss his surreal and narrative methods of creativity that tackles the complexities of urban life.

Also on Thursday, May 28, beginning at 8 p.m. the SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series will host Susie Glaze & The Hilonesome Band, a newgrass Americana folk fusion quintet, at the Repertory East Playhouse. Tickets can be purchased here.

The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, continues in April with its second installment of fun and exciting events of the 2015 season.

Senses August Odd Ball Sports 2

Main Street in Old Town Newhall will come to life each Thursday evening with a variety of events, including square dancing, a car show with trucks and off-road vehicles, a Western-themed block party, an appearance by acclaimed director Jorge Gutierrez and performances by renowned musicians Kristyn Harris and Jim Jones.

ArtSLAM and JAM Sessions, hosted by the Ford Theatre Foundation, returns on tonight from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Residents can explore the free ArtSLAM open-air gallery featuring local and regional artists, while Susan Michaels and Triple Chicken Foot lead do-si-doers in swinging square dances for JAM Sessions.

Revved Up cruises onto Main Street with trucks and off-roading vehicles on Thursday, April 9, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. The event will also include a live DJ, food trucks and a beer and wine garden for adults. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in a future Revved Up Car Show can apply online.

Senses Saddle Up 4

In anticipation of the 22nd Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy FestivalSENSES returns to Old Town Newhall with a Country Throwdown block party on Thursday, April 16, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. The event will feature live country music, line dancing, horse shoes, trick roping and gourmet food trucks.

The ARTree Speaker Series will finish out the April lineup with a free screening of the animated film “The Book of Life“, and discussion with its director, Cal Arts graduate Jorge Guierrez, on Thursday, April 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Newhall Community Center.

As part of the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series will be held on Wednesday, April 15, with the 2015 Western Music Association’s Female and Male Performers of the Year: Kristyn Harris and Jim Jones. On Thursday, March 12, the City of Santa Clarita debuted its new monthly car show, Revved Up, as part of its Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

More than 500 people packed the Main Street in Old Town Newhall to attend the event, which featured 40 classic VW’s including: Beetles, classic buses, Type 3s, Karmann Ghias, Things (aka Type 181) and a Porsche-VW 914. Attendees voted on the cars in two categories: People’s Choice and Peer Choice.

‘Rockabilly’ Themed Block Party Tonight at ‘Senses on Main’ in Old Town Newhall

Tonight, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., guys and dolls are invited to relive the days of retro music, hot rods and pin-up girls at the Rockabilly themed SENSES event on Main Street.

The evening will start with the Rockabilly band, Hard Six and continue the night with the music of Three Bad Jacks.

This free event will also feature street performers and gourmet food trucks, including Baby’s Badass BurgersThe Grilled Cheese Truck, and The Greasy Wiener, or grab a drink at the bar on Main Street.
