
Residents and local artists are invited to participate in the City of Santa Clarita’s CArt Competition in conjuction with this years Earth Arbor Day Festival, hosted on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Central Park. Residents can register now through Friday, March 30, to pick up a FREE trash cart, decorate it, and be entered into a contest for prizes.

All submissions will be on display at this years Earth Arbor Day Festival. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners at 2 p.m. on the main stage at the event, in the following categories: Grand Prize $200; Most Creative $100; Best Local Flare $100; and Best Green Theme $100.

Everything used in the art project, with the exception of the cart, must be provided by the artist. Carts can be painted or left natural. Materials or containers that once held hazardous waste products like paint, oil, pesticides, cleaning products, and chemicals are not permitted to be used in the competition. All entries must be submitted between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the Environmental Services booth at the festival.
