As earlier mentioned on Santa Clarita City Briefs, the City recently completed escrow and took the 842 acre Elsmere Canyon into public ownership. This Friday, November 12, at 11:30 a.m., the Santa Clarita City Council, together with L.A. County 5th District Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority will be hosting a media event/dedication to acknowledge the recently completed acquisition of Elsmere Canyon, located just north of the Interstate 5/State Route 14 junction.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m., those planning on attending are asked to arrive at 11 a.m. as all guests will need to be shuttled in a four-wheel drive vehicle to the event/view site. Attendees are asked to please RSVP for the event by calling 661-255-4321 so adequete preperation can be made for on-site shuttles.
Directions: From Newhall Avenue in Santa Clarita, drive west (right) on Sierra Highway past Eternal Valley, and go 1/2 mile west of Newhall Avenue. Look for balloons and the yellow gated entrance on the left side of the street.
