Thursday nights will heat up in March as Santa Clarita’s popular Thursdays @ Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, returns to Old Town Newhall on March 5. Several new and returning events will be held on Thursday nights from March through October, including a weekly rotation of ArtSLAM, a new Revved Up car show, SENSES, the ARTree 2015 Speaker Series and the SCVTV Presents OutWest Concert Series.
On the first Thursday of each month from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., ArtSLAM will combine forces with JAM Sessions to celebrate art, music and movement. ArtSLAM features art installations by local artists. JAM Sessions is an interactive series inviting residents to release their inner artist through tango, salsa, drumming, square dance and much more. All ArtSLAM is free and open to the public.
The Thursdays @ Newhall series cruises on with Revved Up, a free themed car show held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Each event will feature a different genre of top quality cars, plus a live DJ, food trucks and a beer and wine garden for adults. Attendees will be invited to vote for their favorite car, with eligible winners entered for consideration into the annual OTNA Classic Car Show.
The City’s popular SENSES block party will heat up Main Street once again from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on every third Thursday of the month. The free outdoor events, which draw thousands of attendees each week and will kick off on Thursday, March 19 with a Luck o’ the Irish theme, including live Celtic rock music, as well as food trucks and activities.
The ARTree 2015 Speaker Series will feature free lectures and discussions with influential artists and leaders who bring art, arts education and exceptional projects to Santa Clarita. The series will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. The series begins on February 26 with Moses Mora and Jim Rice from the Bell Arts Factory.
The SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series will bring live ticketed music performances to Old Town Newhall on the fourth Thursday of each month. The ongoing music series is held at the Repertory East Playhouse and features well-established musicians, as well as new and emerging vocal artists and music groups in Western genres.

The free Emerald City-themed event will take attendees down the yellow brick road and over the rainbow into the Land of Oz with whimsical décor and live performances by Savannah Burrows and the Skinny Little Twits.

Back by popular demand, SENSES, presented by Galpin Suburu, will morph Main Street into a disco-themed dance club this Thursday, August 21, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. complete with fun activities and gourmet food trucks.
The psychedelic theme will bring the energy of Studio 54 to Old Town Newhall with flashing strobe lights and groovy dance tunes of the Disco era’s hottest bands.

This Thursday, August 7, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Art SLAM pays homage to the ‘80s punk movement with live demonstrations, music and art exhibits. The event will feature an array of artwork, including an interactive “My Reason Wall” tattoo photography exhibit inviting attendees to take photos of their tattoos and explain the inspiration behind them. DJ’s from underground radio station K.S.S.R will spin ‘80s punk anthems, and ‘80s punk bands Channel 3 and Shattered Faith will perform for attendees.
The interactive, family-focused, musical movement JAM Sessions will feature a night filled with West African dancing and drumming by the CalArts African Music and Dance Ensemble on Thursday, August 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. With a unique selection of significant pieces lined up, the ensemble will perform a traditional repertoire from the Ewe and Dagomba people of Ghana. Salute the nation with a Patriotic Art SLAM event on Thursday, July 3, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Old Town Newhall. “The Los Angeles Fifes and Drums” will be on hand to perform traditional music from the Revolutionary War and American Civil War period. Attendees will also enjoy several art demonstrations and activities, including a live photo shoot, painting with artist Jane Mick, a pop-up gallery themed with patriotism and remembrances, graphic artist Al Ewing’s “My American Flag” collection, and “The Patriotic Shoe” project by ARTree.
On Thursday, July 10, Main Street awakens with the interactive musical movement JAM Sessions featuring Mexican Folk Dance from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Experience the rich cultural, traditions and colorful attire of this lively dance. Participants will embody the powerful movement of the bull as they stomp the night away with Pacifico Dance Company. The Wait is Over! ‘Senses’ Returns Tomorrow with Roaring Twenties Themed Block Party Beginning at 7 p.m.March 19, 2014
Senses will feature the always popular entertainment of Vaud and the Villains, a 19 piece New Orleans Orchestra and Cabaret Show, as well as Retro Format with 1920′s black and white movies, and a few classic Ford Model T cars.

Thursday nights will heat up in Santa Clarita when Thursdays @ Newhall returns to Old Town Newhall on March 6. Several sizzling events are planned for Thursday nights from March to October, including a weekly rotation of Art SLAM, J.A.M. Sessions and SENSES.
On the first Thursday of each month from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Art SLAM will capture the attention of guests with large interactive art installations designed by local artists, as well as monthly themed galleries on Main Street. For its return on Thursday, March 6, Art SLAM will feature work from various female artists in honor of Women’s History Month.
The interactive musical movement J.A.M. Sessions will debut on Main Street on Thursday, March 13. This FREE series will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, featuring interactive demonstrations by various performing arts groups.
SENSES will be the talk of the town once again when it transforms Main Street into a themed block party from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on every third Thursday of the month. The popular event will shake up Newhall when it returns on Thursday, March 20 with a Roaring Twenties theme, complete with Vaud & The Villains, a 19 piece New Orleans Orchestra and cabaret show.

On Saturday, November 9, Main Street in Old Town Newhall was transformed into a winter wonderland as thousands of lights were illuminated by the Santa Clarita City Council and community partners Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and SCV Automobile Dealers Association as part of the City’s first “Light Up Main Street” event.
Mr. and Ms. Claus arrived on the City’s Trolley before the ceremony on Main Street.
A 23-foot Christmas tree sits in front of the Old Town Newhall Library for residents to gaze upon.
The decorations on Main Street in Old Town Newhall will be up from now to the end of the year!
