This Saturday, July 16, the City of Santa Clarita’s Concert in the Park series, presented by First Entertainment Credit Union, will feature a performance by Steve Baldwin and Timeless Wonder (Stevie Wonder tribute act). All City Concerts in the Park begin at 7 p.m. and residents are advised to arrive early to get a good spot. Last weeks opening day of Concerts in the Park drew an estimated 7,500 to Central Park.

The City of Santa Clarita's 4th of July Fireworks Show will begin at 9:15 at the Westfield Valenica Town Center.
This Monday July 4th will bring a full day activities for Santa Clarita residents.
- 6:30 a.m. - The Santa Clarita Rotary Club Breakfast will be held in Old Town Newhall. Pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee will be served in the Roger Dunn Golf parking lot onMain Streetbetween 5th and6th Street.
- 7:00 a.m. – The 29th Annual Independence Day ClassicRun at NewhallPark. The 10K race begins at 7:00 a.m., Kids K at 7:45 a.m., and the 5K race/walk takes off at 8:00 a.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cross Country Teams of the six Santa Clarita Valley High Schools.
- 9:00 a.m. - The Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade will begin at9:00 a.m. This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating Women’s Right to Vote,” in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote in California. (See below or click through for parade route and traffic information.)
- 9:15 p.m. – The Fourth of July Fireworks Show will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the WestfieldValencia Town Center. Spectators can tune their radios to Santa Clarita’s Home Town Radio Station KHTS AM 1220 to enjoy a live broadcast of the show.
TRAFFIC
- PARADE TRAFFIC – Parade route street closures will begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. and include Main Street in both directions from Pine Street to Lyons Avenue; Lyons Avenue in both directions from Main Street to Orchard Village Road; Orchard Village Road in both directions from Lyons Avenue to 16th Street. - FIREWORKS TRAFFIC – McBean Parkway will be completely closed, beginning at 7:00 p.m. between Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway, and will reopen approximately one hour after the end of the fireworks show.
- Valencia Boulevard between McBean Parkway and Citrus Avenue, will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction between 7:30 p.m. and the end of the fireworks show at approximately 9:45 p.m.
