On Monday, January 16, 2017, Youth Sports held the 1st Annual Youth Sports Basketball Skills Challenge!  This event, free with a food donation for the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, was open to youth participating in the 2017 Youth winter Basketball program.  The Skills Challenge featured four contests for participants to show off their skills including NBA 2-Ball, 3-Point Shooting, Skills Course Challenge, and a 2-on-2 Tournament.

Over 300 patrons turned out to cheer on participants or put their own skills to the test.  Top performers in each age division were awarded with trophies.  The event was also highlighted by decorations, music, and MC Joshua Arguellez, who kept things light and exciting for participants as they displayed their talents for the crowd.  This fun-filled event was a great success and generated two full bins of canned goods for the food pantry!  Youth Sports is looking forward to an even bigger hit next year!
