2016 Pitch, Hit, & Run Competition

For the first time the City of Santa Clarita hosted a Pitch, Hit, & Run Competition on Thursday, April 21, at Canyon Country Park and Saturday, April 23, at Chesebrough Park.  Pitch, Hit, & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball.  This grassroots program is designed to provide children with an opportunity to compete free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Children between the ages of seven to fourteen were broken up into age groups and participated in various pitching, hitting, and running events.  The winners of each group each will advance to the Sectional Level Competition to eventually compete during the 2016 MLB All-Star Game for the National Championship!  Music during the event provided a fun atmosphere for families.  The event was a great experience for children to show off their baseball/softball skills and a good time was had by all in attendance.  IMG_4608 IMG_4610 IMG_4638 IMG_4643 IMG_4667 IMG_4680
