The City of Santa Clarita, along with Frontier Toyota, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department, Safe Rides, invite residents to support White Ribbon Week and Drive Safe Program taking place during the local high school graduation ceremony season.
White Ribbon Week and the Drive Safe Program are designed to educate local teens on the dangers of reckless or impaired driving. Since 2010, five local students have lost their lives in vehicular collisions.
White Ribbon Week also includes a number of programs designed to educate students about the dangers of reckless driving and promote responsible habits behind-the-wheel. The Santa Clarita Sherriff’s Department makes presentations to senior classes and distributes white ribbons for students to wear on their gown during graduation to remind them to celebrate commencement in a safe and sober way.
White ribbons are available for residents at local businesses like City Hall, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Frontier Toyota and more.
