At last night’s Santa Clarita City Council meeting, Mayor Laurene Weste and the Santa Clarita City Council recognized Akash Moreno for his winning t-shirt design for this year’s River Rally .
The City Council also proclamed the month of October as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” and “Domestic Violence Prevention Month” in the City of Santa Clarita.
The City Council also received the highest honor from the League of California Cities’ – the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence – for its “Drug Free Youth in Town (DFYIT) Program.
The City Council also celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the City’s Teen Court program.
The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) also presented the City Council with awards for being the most business friendly city in Los Angeles County .
