Del Monte Drive Closed Friday, March 7, for Replacement Efforts on Pedestrian Bridge

The City of Santa Clarita has begun construction to replace the existing pedestrian timber bridge crossing Del Monte Drive, between El Paseo Drive and Benito Ct, with a pre-fabricated steel truss bridge.

On Friday, March 7, during the removal of the existing bridge, a full road closure 300’ east of El Paseo Dr and 50’ west of Benito Ct will be required. Another full road closure in early April will be required during the installation of the new bridge.  Temporary lane closures will be necessary during construction.

The pedestrian bridge is expected to be closed for 10 weeks with construction hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.  The new bridge is anticipated to be open early May.
