On Saturday, July 14, the City’s Community Emergency Response team and Noah’s Wish conducted an animal disaster response training for Santa Clarita residents..
As an ongoing process to the City’s mass care and shelter planning, the City collaborated with Noah’s Wish to provide the training for free. Training included animal behavior, triage, intake and sheltering, along with team building and leadership.
Noah’s Wish is a national non-profit disaster response organization for animals. Their mission is to rescue, shelter and help animals in disasters.
Noah’s Wish’s mission is to help establish a local network of volunteers who will be ready for any emergency to help Santa Clarita residents and their pets in any disaster. Noah’s Wish will conduct another training module for the new volunteers in early November 2012.
