Santa Clarita 4th of July Activities and Fireworks Show Traffic Information Update

The City of Santa Clarita’s 4th of July Fireworks Show will begin at 9:15 at the Westfield Valenica Town Center.

July 4th, will bring a full day activities for Santa Clarita residents.

  • 7:00 a.m.  – The 30th Annual Independence Day Run at Newhall Park. The 10K race begins at 7 a.m., Kids K at 7:45 a.m., and the 5K race/walk takes off at 8 a.m.
  • 9:00 a.m. –  The Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade will begin at 9 a.m.  The mile-long parade route, which will feature horses, floats, music, classic cars, military presentations and more, will travel down Main Street, Lyons Avenue and Orchard Village Road before finishing at 16th Street.
  • 9:15 p.m. – The Fourth of July Fireworks Show will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the WestfieldValencia Town Center. Spectators can tune their radios to Santa Clarita’s Home Town Radio Station KHTS AM 1220 to enjoy a live broadcast of the show.

To accommodate the 4th of July Fireworks show, the following streets will be impacted:

  • McBean Parkway will be reduced to one lane on the northbound approach to Valencia Boulevard, and southbound approach to Magic Mountain Parkway beginning at 5 p.m.
  • McBean Parkway will be closed to both northbound and southbound traffic between Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway beginning at 6:45 p.m.
  • Eastbound Valencia Boulevard and eastbound Magic Mountain Parkway will be reduced to one lane between Citrus Street and McBean Parkway beginning at 7:15 p.m.
  • Westbound Valencia Boulevard and westbound Magic Mountain Parkway will be reduced to one lane between McBean Parkway and Citrus Street beginning at 8 p.m.


The City of Santa Clarita will temporarily close the Goldcrest Paseo Bridge, located in the Summit neighborhood at Del Monte Drive and Goldcrest Drive at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

During previous Fourth of July celebrations, this 25 year-old bridge has served as a popular viewing area for residents to enjoy the City’s annual firework show. Due to the age of this wooden bridge, the City is taking precautionary measures and will temporarily close this structure in anticipation of the fireworks, which will take place at 9:15 p.m. at Westfield Valencia Town Center.
