The City of Santa Clarita is conducting its annual Overlay and Slurry Seal project. The 2008-09 program, which began in early July and is expected to continue through October, provides for a smoother ride for traffic, enhances the appearance of roadways and surrounding area, and extends the life of local roadways.
Local streets are annually evaluated and identified for their need for asphalt maintenance treatments. Roads found eligible for maintenance are included in the annual Overlay and Slurry Seal Project. This year a significant portion of the funding for the program came from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
