Today the I-5/Magic Mountain Interchange project (phase 2) reached a major milestone. The newly widened northbound off-ramp is now open. For approximately one year the northbound off-ramp has detoured along Wayne Mills Place to Tourney Road.
The off-ramp was completley closed for the last 19 days but, with construction coming in ahead of schedule, the regular off-ramp will now be open permanently. In fact, the entire project will be completed in a months time according to City engineer and project manager, James Tong.
The opening of the off-ramp comes right in time for Six Flags Magic Mountain’s busy season. All businesses surrounding the interchange have remained open and will, no doubt, welcome the completion of the project. The I-5/Magic Mountain Interchange is a critical entry point for Santa Clarita and improvements were necessary to accommodate heavy usage.
