The City of Santa Clarita, in conjunction with Six Flags Magic Mountain, will host a National Weather Service Weather Spotter Training and Recruitment session on Tuesday June 16th 2009 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The National Weather Service Spotter Program is a volunteer organization comprised of individuals with an interest in weather. Weather spotters call in to the National Weather Service with reports on significant weather occurrences. These reports provide important ground truth for weather forecasters, improving forecasts and warnings.

For more information on the Weather Spotter Training and Recruitment session, please contact Joe Sirard at (805) 988-6615.
