Mayor Frank Ferry and Councilmember Marsha McLean were joined by Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, SCV Sheriff’s Captain Anthony La Berge and dignitaries for the opening of the brand new Detectives Bureau located along Citrus near City Hall.
Sheriff Baca reflected on memories of being stationed at Wayside Honor Ranch (Pitchess Detention Center) 40 years ago when, “no one (at the ceremony) lived here (Santa Clarita).” Sheriff Baca also lauded the work of the SCV Sheriff’s and expressed his appreciation to the detectives who will be moving into the facility. Notice the Sheriff’s new T3 Personal Mobility Vehicles behind the Sheriff.
Mayor Frank Ferry, aka Mayor Dude, addressed the crowd along with Councilmember Marsha McLean.
Mayor Ferry and Councilmember McLean presented a plaque to Sheriff Baca on behalf of the City of Santa Clarita.
When all the words were spoken and plaques exchanged it was time to cut the yellow ribbon. If you look closely you’ll notice that the yellow ribbon is actually crime-tape. And with that, the SCV Sheriff’s Detective Bureau has a new home.
