It’s official- the City’s Earth Day Festival and 20th Annual Arbor Day Celebration was a zero-waste event! Held on April 18, the City event used recycling and composting bins in place of trash cans. Burrtec Waste Industries was instrumental in making this a successful zero-waste event.
The City also worked with vendors at the Festival to ensure that all of their products would not generate trash, but rather could be reused, recycled, or composted.
Here are the diversion numbers from the zero-waste Earth Day Festival and 20th Annual Arbor Day Celebration:
Mixed Recycling Collected- 692 lbs
Organics/Green waste Collected- 134 lbs
Trash Collected- 0.00 lbs
