The City will host it’s first-ever combination Earth Day Festival and 20th Annual Arbor Day Celebration at Central Park this Saturday April 18th from 10 am to 5pm and organizers have arranged some fun ways to get there in the spirit of the festival.
“Leave your car at home,” suggests the organizers of the festival. Walk, bicycle, take a bus, or other forms of sustainable transportation to the Earth Day Festival and 20th Annual Arbor Day Celebration held at Central Park (video link). On Saturday, April 18, bus service will be free citywide service on Santa Clarita Transit courtesy of MV Transportation.
For those really looking to enjoy a brisk bike ride before the festival, arrive early to Central Park and participate in one of two bicycle rides presented by Newhall Bicycle Company. A road ride, covering 40-miles, and the Family Ride, coving 10-miles, will leave Central Park at 8:15 am. Once you arrive back in Central Park, you will have the opportunity to valet your bike free thanks to the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. Helmets are suggested. You can ride your bike to either the Westfield Valencia Town Center or the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, valet your bike, and catch a free ride on the Santa Clarita Transit to Central Park, where you will receive a shopping bag compliment of Whole Food Market.
