The official opening of the brand new Santa Clarita Skate Park is drawing near and for some skaters, the opening can’t come soon enough. As construction draws to a close, the Santa Clarita City Council’s $1.5 million dollar investment is taking shape in the form of: larges bowls, a Street Plaza, Half-Pipe Tunnel, Snake Run and Skate-able Planters.
To the uninitiated the new Skate Park might look like a conundrum of curved and manicured concrete and steal, but make no mistake, after intense input from the community and seasoned skateboarders alike, the new Santa Clarita Skate Park is the real deal. Those in-the-know anticipate the finished Skate Park to be among the best in California and will likely inspire pilgrimages from far and wide to surf the Santa Clarita concrete.
The highly anticipated grand is slated for Friday, March 27 at 3:30 p.m. at the Park, located at the City’s Sports Complex at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway. Details regarding the opening will be released in the near future, but the Santa Clarita City Council is planning a kick-off worthy of the state-of-the-art park.
